DIN EN 61508-6:2011-02

This part of IEC 61508 contains information for the application of DIN EN 61508-2 (VDE 0803-2) and DIN EN 61508-3 (VDE 0803-3). - Annex A provides a short overview of the requirements of DIN EN 61508-2 (VDE 0803-2) and DIN EN 61508-3 (VDE 0803-3) and shows the functional steps for their application. - Annex B shows an example for the methods for calculation of the probability of hardware failure and should be read in connection with 7.4.3 and Annexes C and D of DIN EN 61508-2 (VDE 0803-2). - Annex C shows an elaborated example for calculation of the diagnostic coverage and should be read in connection with Annex C of DIN EN 61508-2 (VDE 0803-2). - Annex D shows a method for quantification of the effects of hardware-related failures as a result of common causes of failure probability. - Annex E shows elaborated examples for the application of the tables for safety integrity of the software which are specified in Annex A of DIN EN 61508-3 (VDE 0803-3) for safety integrity levels 2 and 3.
