Overview
This standard gives the minimum requirements for the initial testing and measurement and the severities which a non-connectorized single-mode fibre, electrically controlled, variable optical attenuator needs to satisfy in order to comply with category C (controlled environment), as defined in Annex A of IEC 61753-1:2007. Standard series IEC 61754 and IEC 61755 cover the relevant requirements for the mechanical and optical interface standards. IEC 61753 covers the relevant performance standard requirements for connector sets. This standard references test standards of the IEC 61300 series. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.7 "LWL-Verbindungstechnik und passive optische Komponenten" ("Fibre optics interconnecting devices and passive optical components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
