Overview
This part of IEC 61754 is a product standard and describes a SC-RJ connector with a protective housing, for upgrading the existing interface defined in IEC 61754-24 to IP65 and IP67 ratings according to IEC 60529, for use in harsh industrial environments. The standard contains the dimensions and tolerances of the mentioned connector and specifies the mechanical interoperability of identical connectors, couplings and sockets. Thus, the standard provides manufacturers and users with investment security and test laboratories and manufacturers with detailed information on testing. The standard series is applied together with the 61755 (Optical interface) standard series and is supplemented by the 61300 (Basic test and measurement procedures) standard series. The 50377 (Product standards) standard series also refer to the 61754, 61755 and 61300 standard series. At DIN and VDE the responsible Subcommittee is UK 412.7 "LWL - Verbindungstechnik und passive optische Komponenten" ("Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies).
