Overview
The standard specifies a safety communication layer (services and protocol) based on CPF 8 of DIN EN 61784-1 and DIN EN 61158 Type 18. It identifies the principles for functional safety communications defined in DIN EN 61784-3 (VDE 0803-500) that are relevant for this safety communication layer. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 914.1 "Profile für funktional sichere Kommunikationssysteme" ("Profiles for functionally safe communication systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
