Overview

This part of the International standard series IEC 61881 deals with d.c. electric double-layer capacitors (cell, module and bank) for power electronics intended to be used on rolling stock. This part of the standard is a consolidated version and contains modifications for the standard published in 2012. The standard specifies quality requirements and tests for those capacitors under defined operating conditions. Safety requirements are also described and specfications for installation and operation are defined in the form of a guide. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 351.1 "Fahrzeuge" ("Rolling stock") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.

This document replaces DIN EN 61881-3:2013-06; VDE 0115-430-3:2013-06 .
