This standard is applicable to thermal-resistant aluminium alloy wires before stranding for manufacture of stranded conductors for overhead lines. It specifies the mechanical, electrical and thermal-resistant properties of wires in the diameter ranges commercially available. The responsible Committee is K 421 "Freileitungen" ("Overhead lines").
