Overview
This standard specifies a method for connecting switching elements, such as low-voltage switchgear in accordance with IEC 60947 and controlgear. It can also be applied for connecting devices as well as similar equipment and elements. This standard specifies a method for communication between a single control device and switching elements, and establishes a system for the interoperability of components with the specified communication interfaces. The complete system is called "Actuator Sensor interface (AS-i)". The responsible committee is DKE/K 431 "Niederspannungsschaltgeräte und -kombinationen" ("Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
