Overview
This International Standard covers the ultrasonic frequency range from 20 kHz up to an upper frequency of 40 MHz. The standards dealing with the properties and the application of hydrophones are prepared in parallel as part of a maintenance activity program aiming to restructure and summarize all existing hydrophone standards to the greatest possible extent. This will finally result in harmonized standards covering the entire field of practical hydrophone application. The responsible committee is DKE/GUK 821.3 "Medizinische Ultraschallgeräte" ("Ultrasonics") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
