Overview

This part of IEC 62149 provides references, definitions and rules for creating an active fibre optic device performance standard, as well as related information pertinent to the subject. Fibre optic active components are used in transmission technology and are the centrepiece in the transmission line. The tests are carried out in accordance with IEC 61300. The standard is directed to users, test institutes and manufacturers. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 412.2 "Komponenten für Kommunikationskabelanlagen" ("Components for communication cabling systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
