DIN EN 62149-9:2015-01

This part of IEC 62149 covers the performance specification for seeded reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) transceivers used for fibre optic telecommunication and optical data transmission applications. The performance standard specifies the product performance requirements and gives a number of tests and measurements with clearly defined conditions, severities, and pass/fail criteria. The tests are intended to be run on a "once-off" basis to prove the product's ability to satisfy the performance standard's requirements. A product that has been shown to meet all the requirements of a performance standard can be declared as complying with the performance standard, but should then be controlled by a quality assurance/quality conformance programme. The standard gives the minimum requirements, details and test severities für 22 different tests. Thus, the standard provides investment security for manufacturers and users as well as defined testing information for testing laboratories and manufacturers. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.2 "Komponenten für Kommunikationskabelanlagen" ("Components for communication cabling systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
