Overview
This standard is applicable to a.c. circuit-breakers designed for indoor or outdoor installation and for operation at frequencies of 50 Hz and 60 Hz on systems having voltages above 1 kV. It is only applicable to three-pole circuit-breakers for use in three-phase systems and single-pole circuit-breakers for use in single-phase systems. With this amendment the requirements and tests for 1 100 kV and 1 200 kV are added. Normative Annex R "Requirements for opening resistors" has been added. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 432.1 "Hochspannungs-Schaltgeräte" ("High-voltage switchgear") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
