Overview

This International Standard deals with the interchangeability of micro fuel cell (MFC) power system fuel cartridges to provide compatibility for a variety of MFC power units while maintaining the safety and performance of MFC power systems. For this purpose, this standard deals with fuel cartridges and their connector designs. Fuel type, fuel concentration and fuel quality are also covered. This standard also deals with the means to avoid miss-connection of improper cartridges. This standard also deals with test methods for verifying the compliance with the interchangeability requirements for fuel and fuel cartridges. The responsible Committee is K 384 "Brennstoffzellen" ("Fuel cells") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
