Overview
This standard contains specifications for the dimensions of a preferred range of PQ cores and low-profile PQI cores made of ferrite as well as coil formers with the aim of enabling their mechanical interchangeability. PQ cores have been developed especially for transformers in switching power supplies and are characterized by small dimensions, low weight and good heat dissipation. The main change compared to the previous edition is the inclusion of core sizes PQ65/54, PQ78/39 and PQ107/87. The responsible committee is DKE/K 625 "Magnetische Bauelemente und deren Komponenten" ("Magnetic components and their parts") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
