Overview

This document applies to input devices that make the lighting control system sensitive to absolute input devices such as switches or sliders, or rotary switches; such as a position between start and end points. This document applies only to input devices that comply with IEC 62386-103:2022. The 3xx parts extend the general requirements for control gear in order to include specific requirements for input devices, describing the instance types as well as several common features that can be combined with multiple instance types. There are no restrictions on the scope of this document. The standard differs from DIN EN 62386-302 (VDE 0712-0-302):2018-03 as follows: a) the scope has been adjusted; b) normative references have been updated; c) terms have been added; d) 4.3 Insulation, the first paragraph has been revised; e) further adjustments have been made in clauses 9, 10, and 11. Typical examples of applications covered by this document include input devices that make the lighting control system sensitive to absolute input devices such as switches or sliders, or rotary switches; such as a position between start and end points.
