The DIN EN 62453 series of standards provides a set of requirements for developers of FDT (Field Device Tool) components to support control and data access within client/server architecture. It enables the development of servers and clients from different manufacturers and thus supports open interactions. This part of DIN EN 62453 provides an overview and instructions for the application of the standards in the DIN EN 62453 series. The responsible committee is DKE/K 956 "Feldbus" ("Fieldbus") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
