Overview
DIN EN 62489-1 applies to the components of audio-frequency induction-loop systems for assisted hearing. It may also be applied to induction-loop systems used for other purposes, as far as it is applicable. It is intended to encourage accurate and uniform presentation of manufacturers' specifications, which can be verified by standardized methods. The standard is intended for type testing. The following changes have been implemented: new terms have been added: phased induction loop array, neck loop, telecoil, loop listener, assistive listening device (ALD); new Subclause 5.4.13.4 "Recommendations" has been added; text from 5.4.14 has been replaced by new Subclauses 5.4.14.1 to 5.4.14.4; new Clause 9 "Neck loops" and new Annexes D, E and F have been added; new Clause 10 "Monitoring systems" has been added.
