This standard specifies the measurement procedures for dimensions related to interface information of optical circuit boards (OCB) as defined in IEC 62496-4. The standard provides manufacturers and test laboratories with security regarding the definition of the test and serves as a reference for quality assurance. The responsible Committee is K 412 "Kommunikationskabel (Kabel, Leitungen, Wellenleiter, Lichtwellenleiter, Komponenten, Zubehör und Anlagentechnik für die Nachrichten- und Informationsübertragung)" ("Communication cables (Cables, wires, waveguides, fibre optics, components, equipment and installation technology for the transmission of news and information)") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
