Overview
This part of IEC 62516 specifies the characteristics and requirements for interactive data services using binary format for scene (BIFS) in the terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB) receiver. Different types of services shall be possible for interactive BIFS broadcasts, for instance, one-way interactive services, bidirectional interactive services and broadcast-participation services. For this purpose, for instance, the broadcast-participation service during viewing of the T-DMB audio/video broadcast shall enable reception of interactive data as well as rebroadcast of the user's answers in the transmission network. The responsible committee is K 742 "Audio-, Video- und Multimediasysteme, -geräte und -komponenten" ("Audio, video and multimedia systems, equipment and components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) of DIN and VDE.
