Overview

This standard specifies performance and life testing of secondary lithium-ion cells used for propulsion of electric vehicles including battery electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles. The objective of this standard is to specify the test procedures to determine the essential characteristics of lithium-ion cells for vehicle propulsion applications regarding capacity, power density, energy density, storage life and cycle life. The responsible committee is K 371 "Akkumulatoren" ("Secondary cells and batteries") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
