Overview
This IEC standard provides an overview of the corresponding series of standards. It applies to all Home and Building Electronic Systems (HBES) and Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS) and specifies the general requirements for these systems and for products with the following functions: - control and commands, - audio and video transmission, - image transmission. In order to enable integration of a wide spectrum of applications this series of product family standards covers - electrical safety, - functional safety, - environmental conditions, - EMC requirements, and - installation and cabling rules and topologies. The responsible committee is DKE/K 716 "Elektrische Systemtechnik für Heim und Gebäude (ESHG)" ("Home and Building Electronic Systems (HBES)") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
