This document specifies a method of determining the water absorption coefficient due to capillary action for aggregate concrete, autoclaved aerated concrete, natural stone and manufactured stone masonry units and the initial rate of water absorption for clay masonry units. It is primarily directed at manufacturers of masonry units, verification bodies and research institutions. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-06-04 AA "Prüfverfahren (Sp CEN/TC 125/WG 4)" ("Test methods (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 125/WG 4)") at DIN.
