The European Standard is a new edition. It specifies, in addition to purity criteria and the appropriate analysis procedures, requirements for labelling, transportation and storage of the respective products as well as specific safety rules. Furthermore, it includes information on physical and chemical properties and general information on the manufacturing process and use of the products. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 164/WG 9 ("Drinking Water Treatment") (secretariat: AFNOR, France) with the active German collaboration of Working Committee NA 119-04-02 AA "Wasseraufbereitung" ("Drinking Water Treatment") at NAW.
