This International Standard deals with the techniques for sampling free gases from gas-collecting relays from power transformers. Three methods of sampling free gases are described. This International Standard does not claim to address all safety issues that may arise in connection with its application. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate health and safety measures and to check the applicability of official regulations before its application. The techniques for sampling oil from oil-filled equipment such as power and instrument transformers, reactors, bushings, oil-filled cables and oil-filled tank-type capacitors are no longer covered by this document, but are instead described in IEC 60475:2011, 4.2. The standard differs from DIN EN 60567 (VDE 0370-9):2012-08 as follows: a) A new normative Annex F has been added with reference to the analysis of dissolved gases from insulating liquids other than mineral oils (esters and silicones); b) Clauses 4 to 11 and informative Annex A to informative Annex E remain related to mineral oils; c) two new mercury-free gas extraction methods are described in Annex B (low-pressure vacuum extraction and mechanical oscillation).
This document replaces DIN EN 60567:2012-08; VDE 0370-9:2012-08 .
