This part of IEC 60626 contains the definitions related to and the general requirements to be fulfilled by combined flexible materials for electrical insulation. This standard does not include mica papers used as a primary component, which are covered by IEC 60371, but insulation materials based on mica paper may be used as component of a combined flexible material. Materials which conform to this specification meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of material by a user for a specific application should be based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone. SAFETY NOTICE: It is the responsibility of the user of the procedures listed or referenced in this document to ensure that these procedures are carried out in a safe manner. This part of IEC 60626 contains the associated definitions and the requirements to be fulfilled by combined flexible materials for electrical insulation. This document does not include mica paper, as this is treated as a primary component in IEC 60371. However, mica paper can be used as a complementary material. The standard differs from DIN EN 60626-1 (VDE 0316-1):2012-12 as follows: a) the materials available for use in this series of standards have been updated; b) a framework has been created to include test methods that go beyond test methods for quality control specifications, thus enabling testing for qualification purposes. Materials which conform to this document meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of material by a user for a specific application should be based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone.
This document replaces DIN EN 60626-1:2012-12; VDE 0316-1:2012-12 .
