Overview

This document provides the minimum performance requirements to be fulfilled in operation at the system outlet or terminal input and describes the summation criteria for the impairments present in the received signals and those produced by the CATV/MATV/SMATV cable network, including individual receiving systems. The home network can use coaxial cables, symmetrical data cables, and fiber optic cables (quartz glass or plastic), as well as radio connections within a room (or a small number of adjacent rooms) as a substitute for connection cables. There are no restrictions on the area of application. The document is used when the requirements for signals at the system outlet are to be specified for operation with all-digital channels load.
