DIN EN IEC 60794-2-20:2025-09

This part of IEC 60794 is a family specification covering multi-fibre optical cables for indoor use. The requirements of the sectional specification IEC 60794-2 are applicable to cables covered by this document. Annex B contains a blank detail specification and general guidance in case the cables are intended to be used in installations governed by the MICE table of ISO/IEC 11801-1. This standard is part of a series of family specifications that are specified in detail by means of detail specifications or individual provisions. It contains specifications for the fibre optical cables specified in the title, some of which are derived from or refer to other standards for similar cables. Of particular note are the requirements for mechanical and environmental testing, as well as the testing of cable elements. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of the document. Application of this document increases investment security for manufacturers and users, provides testing laboratories and manufacturers with defined specifications for testing, and ensures compatibility across manufacturers.
