Overview

The document covers cord sets for household purposes and defines the necessary safety requirements. Industrial cord sets (IEC 60309) and extension cords are excluded. The standard differs from DIN EN IEC 60799 (VDE 0626):2021-08 as follows: a) normative references: detailed reference to IEC 60320-1:2021 and IEC 60884-1:2022; b) requirements for components for higher ambient temperatures have been added. Typical examples of applications include household appliances such as toasters, coffee machines, or vacuum cleaners.
