DIN EN IEC 60938-2-1:2024-07

This part of IEC 60938-2 is applicable to the drafting of detail specifications for fixed inductors for which safety tests are required for use in electronic equipment. A blank detail specification is a supplementary document to the sectional specification and contains requirements for style, layout and minimum content of detail specifications. Detail specifications not complying with these requirements shall not be considered as being in accordance with IEC specifications nor shall they so be described. This standard covers general information on recommended fastening methods, dimensions, etcetera, as well as inspection requirements, assembly instructions, and quality conformity testing. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of this document. The standard differs from DIN EN 60938-2-1 (VDE 0565-2-2):2000-12 as follows: a) it combines IEC 60938-2-1:1999 and IEC 60938-2-2:1999 into a single blank detail specification; b) the test plan for quality conformity testing has been added as an informative annex (Annex B). The standard increases investment security for manufacturers and users through its application and provides test laboratories and manufacturers with defined specifications for testing.
