Overview

This document specifies safety requirements for miscellaneous electronic circuits used with luminaires for use on DC supplies up to 1 500 V or on AC supplies up to 1 000 V at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of this document. Typical examples of applications for this document include: - control circuits for electronic ballasts (for example, in accordance with the specifications in the IEC 62386, IEC 63128, or IEC 62756-1 series of standards); - circuits for use in conjunction with daylight or presence control, or both; - circuits for improving EMC performance; - flashing circuits and similar equipment used in conjunction with festoon lighting; - protective devices against earth fault current or open-circuit conditions used in conjunction with neon transformers; - other electronic circuits or gear within the scope of TC 34 that are not covered by a specific TC 34 standard.
