The purpose of this part of IEC 61400 is to provide a uniform methodology that ensures consistency, accuracy, and reproducibility in the measurement and analysis of wind turbine performance. This standard provides guidance for the measurement, analysis, and reporting of performance tests for wind turbines. The standard benefits those involved in the manufacture, planning and approval of installation, operation, use, and regulation of wind turbines. The technically precise measurement and analysis procedures recommended in this standard should be applied by all stakeholders in order to ensure that the further development and operation of wind turbines takes place in an atmosphere of consistent and accurate communication with regard to the performance of wind turbines. This standard presents measurement and reporting procedures that are expected to provide accurate results which can be replicated by others. The standard differs from DIN EN 61400-12-1 (VDE 0127-12-1):2017-12, DIN EN 61400-12-1 Corrigendum 1 (VDE 0127-12-1 Corrigendum 1):2021-09, DIN EN 61400-12-2 (VDE 0127-12-2):2014-02 and DIN EN 61400-12-2 Corrigendum 1 (VDE 0127-12-2 Corrigendum 1):2019-07 as follows: a) structural revision replacing the performance standards IEC 61400-12-1:2017 and IEC 61400-12-2:2013.
