This part of IEC 61557 specifies requirements for measuring equipment for testing the phase sequence (direction of rotating field) in three-phase networks (three-phase AC systems), whereby the phase sequence can be indicated mechanically, optically, and/or acoustically. In addition to the requirements of IEC 61557-1:2019, Clause 4, the requirements of Clause 4 of this document apply. These requirements relate to the display and to the measuring equipment. In particular, requirements for "portable phase sequence indicators", "test leads for direct contact with live parts and accessories", and "test clamps for non-contact phase detection" are described. This document does not apply to additional measurements of other quantities. It does not apply to monitoring relays. Common three-phase networks are shown in IEC 610-10-1:2010, Annex I, and IEC 61010-1:2010/AMD1:2016, Annex I. The standard differs from DIN EN IEC 61557-7 (VDE 0413-7): 2022-12 as follows: a) harmonization of the structure with that of the entire IEC 61557 series of standards; b) updated requirements in 4.3 in accordance with the new editions of IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61010-031; c) the information on markings has been expanded; d) information on operating instructions has been expanded; e) information on testing cables has been supplemented; f) test leads for insulated conductors have been added; g) Annex B with information on testing and indicating phase sequence has been added. Measuring and testing the phase sequence (direction of rotating field) in three-phase networks (three-phase AC systems).
This document replaces DIN EN IEC 61557-7:2022-12; VDE 0413-7:2022-12 .
