DIN EN IEC 61960-4:2025-02

This document specifies performance tests, designations, markings, dimensions and other requirements for coin secondary lithium cells and batteries for portable applications, watches, and backup power supply such as memory backup applications. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of the document. The standard differs from DIN EN IEC 61960-4 (VDE 0510-44):2021-06 as follows: a) an annex with requirements for the standardization of secondary lithium batteries for watches has been added; b) new chemical compounds have been added; c) a table for the standardization of dimensions and size codes for secondary lithium batteries for watches has been added; d) marking requirements have been changed. The purpose of this document is to provide purchasers and users of coin secondary lithium button cells and batteries with a set of evaluation criteria to help them assess the performance of coin secondary lithium button cells and batteries offered by different manufacturers. This document defines a minimum required level of performance and a standardized methodology by which testing is performed and the results of this testing are reported to the user.
