Overview
The scope of application includes television sets. Requirements for the energy consumption of the devices are specified. There are no restrictions in the scope of application of the document. The standard differs from DIN EN 62087-3 (VDE 0868-103):2016-09 as follows: a) it introduces a measurement method for determining power consumption in the "on" mode while displaying HDR video content with static metadata; b) all tests of power consumption in the "on" mode are carried out with the MDD disabled; c) only progressive video signals shall be used for the tests; d) the light source used to illuminate the ABC sensor at specified levels shall be a dimmable LED reflector lamp; e) a dynamic box-and-outline video signal shall be used to determine the peak luminance ratio. Typical examples of applications are television sets using LCD or OLED technologies.
