DIN EN IEC 62153-4-15:2025-05

This part of IEC 62153 specifies the procedures for measuring with triaxial cell the transfer impedance, screening attenuation or the coupling attenuation of connectors, cable assemblies and components, for example accessories for analogue and digital transmission systems, and equipment for communication networks and cabling. As a result of the dimension of the triaxial cell it is more suitable for larger units such as connectors and similar components. The principles of the triaxial test method according to IEC 62153-4-3, IEC 62153-4-4, and IEC 62153-4-7 can be applied to rectangular housings. The standard differs from DIN EN IEC 62153-4-15 (VDE 0819-153-4-15):2023-09 as follows: a) measurement of coupling attenuation of balanced connectors, assemblies and components with balun and balunless added; b) application of a test adapter has been added; c) application of a moveable shorting plane; d) application of the triaxial "absorber" cell; e) correction of test results in the case that the receiver input impedance R is higher than the characteristic impedance of the outer circuit Z2. Application of this document increases investment security for manufacturers and users and provides testing laboratories and manufacturers with specified information for testing.
