Overview

This part of IEC 62561 specifies the requirements and tests for earthing enhancing compounds. Earthing conditions are critical for the effectiveness of lightning protection systems. The most important requirements pertain to the properties of the material, such as conductivity, resistivity, and corrosion resistance. There are no restrictions on the scope of this document. The standard differs from DIN EN IEC 62561-7 (VDE 0185-561-7):2018-10 as follows: a) Figure A.1 has been replaced by a simpler figure that clearly illustrates the upper and lower limits for the corrosion load on earthing enhancing compounds without requiring specialized knowledge; b) pH measurement has been introduced. This document applies to all conductive mixtures that create a low-resistance earthing system.
