DIN EN IEC 62877-1:2024-10

This part of IEC 62877 applies to electrolytes and their components used for filling vented lead-acid batteries with dry pre-charged cells and for refilling, replacing, or equalizing the electrolyte of batteries in service. With this edition of IEC 62877-1, the standard has been generally revised and updated to the latest technical status. This document specifies the composition, purity, and properties of the electrolyte for the application. This document applies in the absence of specific instructions from the battery manufacturer. The standard differs from DIN EN 62877-1 (VDE 0510-50):2016-12 and DIN EN 62877-1 Corrigendum 1 (VDE 0510-50 Corrigendum 1):2021-02 as follows: a) addition of halogen concentration values in Table 4. Typical examples of application are the production of electrolyte for lead-acid batteries and for refilling cells or batteries.
