DIN EN IEC 62885-4:2024-02

This part of IEC 62885 is applicable to measurements of the performance characteristics of cordless dry vacuum cleaners for household use or under conditions comparable to those of household use. The results obtained according to this part of IEC 62885 are intended for comparison with the results obtained according to IEC 62885-2 for mains-powered vacuum cleaners. The purpose of this part of IEC 62885 is to define essential performance characteristics of cordless dry vacuum cleaners that are of interest to the user and to describe methods for determining these performance characteristics. A recommendation for information to be provided to the consumer at the point of purchase is given in IEC 62885-2, Annex B. This document is not intended for mains-operated vacuum cleaners or cleaning robots. For the safety requirements, reference is made to IEC 60335-1 and IEC 60335-2-2. The standard differs from DIN EN IEC 62885-4 (VDE 0705-2885-4):2022-03 as follows: a) adaptation of the standard to the 2021 edition of IEC 62885-2; b) the evaluation of dust emission for the entire range of particle sizes for cordless dry vacuum cleaners has been optimized. Typical applications of the document are cordless dry vacuum cleaners and battery-powered vacuum cleaners.
