This document specifies the analogue control interface of controlgear which has the function of controlling the output of the controlgear. The output of the controlgear is controlled between minimum/off and maximum values by the voltage control device sinking the controlgear current source. The document also describes an optional feature of controlgear that simulates the behavior of an incandescent lamp in order to reduce the color temperature as the power of the lamp decreases. This document does not specify safety requirements for the analogue interface of controlgear. Safety requirements are given in IEC 61347 (all parts). The standard differs from DIN EN IEC 63128 (VDE 0712-44):2020-09 as follows: a) addition of the new definitions "3.8 correlated color temperature factor (CCTF)" and 3.9 "warm dimming"; b) requirements for the marking of controllable electronic light source controlgear in Clause 5 have been updated; c) new Clause 7, "Simulation of incandescent lamp dimming (optional)" has been added; d) new Annex A (informative) has been added: Warm dimming control for analog dimming using controlgear with a linear output power control voltage characteristic curve. For application examples see the notes on the scope of application.
This document replaces DIN EN IEC 63128:2020-09; VDE 0712-44:2020-09 .
