Overview
The document specifies laboratory test facilities and equipment for sound insulation measurements of building elements, such as components and materials, building elements, technical elements (small building elements), sound insulation improvement systems. This document is applicable to laboratory test facilities with suppressed radiation from flanking elements and/or structural isolation between source and receiving rooms. The document specifies qualification procedures for use when commissioning a new test facility with equipment for sound insulation measurements. These procedures shall be repeated periodically to ensure that there are no issues with the equipment and the test facility. The test standard addresses laboratories with acoustic test facilities. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 062-02-31 AA "Schalldämmung und Schallabsorption, Messung und Bewertung" ("Sound reduction and sound absorption; measurement and evaluation") at DIN.
