The standard specifies general requirements for the dimensions of bore diameters for rotary instruments such as discs and wheels used in dentistry in order to ensure interchangeability between discs and wheels and the mandrels with which the discs and wheels are operated in a dental handpiece. The International Standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 106/SC 4/WG 1 "Rotary instruments" (secretariat: DIN) in collaboration with CEN/TC 55 "Dentistry" (secretariat: DIN). The committee responsible at DIN is Working Committee NA 014-00-04 AA "Rotierende Instrumente" ("Rotary instruments") at NADENT.
This document replaces DIN EN ISO 10323:1995-11 .
