This document provides uniform symbols for flame retardants added to plastics materials. The abbreviations consist of the designation 'FR' and one or more subsequent code numbers. They are additionally used for material identification for plastics and for identification and marking of plastic products. The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 054-01-01 AA "Terminologie" ("Terminology") at DIN Standards Committee Plastics (FNK).
