This standard defines graphical symbols for the preparation of flow diagrams for processing plants. These flow diagrams illustrate the construction and function of processing plants and are part of the complete set of technical documents required for planning, construction, assembly, administration, commissioning, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of a plant. This standard does not apply to electrotechnical flow diagrams. The responsible German committee is NA 012-00-03 AA "Dokumentation von Prozessanlagen" ("Documentation of process plants") at the Chemical Apparatus Standards Committee (FNCA).
