This standard specifies the characteristics of hexagon socket countersunk head screws with threads from M3 up to and including M20. With regard to the previous standard (DIN EN ISO 10642:2004-06) the value for dk,min of tread size M20 has been corrected. Reference is made to a separate standard for the gauging (DIN EN ISO 23429). The underlying International Standard ISO 10642 has been prepared by ISO/TC 2 "Fasteners", Subcommittee ISO/TC 2/SC 11 "Fasteners with metric external thread" in collaboration with CEN/TC 185 "Fasteners" (all three secretariats: DIN, Germany). The committee responsible for this standard is NA 067-00-02 AA "Verbindungselemente mit metrischem Außengewinde" ("Fasteners with metric external threads") at DIN e. V.
