This standard for testing the fastening of conveyor belts describes a static method with which the strength of the mechanical fastening of a conveyor belt can be determined. The mechanical fastenings can be designed with a connecting rod (detachable joints) or without a connecting rod (non-detachable joints). The standard does not cover vulcanized joints and is neither applicable to nor valid for light conveyor belts, as described in ISO 21183-1. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 41 "Pulleys and belts (including veebelts)", SC 3 "Conveyor belts" of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been adopted by Technical Committee CEN/TC 188 "Conveyor belts". The responsible national committee is NA 045-02-05 AA "Fördergurte" ("Conveyor belts") at the Rubber Technology Standards Committee (FAKAU).
