DIN EN ISO 12311:2015-06

This standard specifies reference test methods for determining the properties of sunglasses given in ISO 12312. It is applicable to all sunglasses and related eyewear. The specified test methods include the evaluation of the construction and materials as well as spectrophotometric, optical and mechanical properties. The annexes specify supplementary specifications and information. The standard projects DIN EN ISO 4007 "Personal protective equipment - Eye and face protection - Vocabulary" and DIN EN ISO 12312 "Eye and face protection - Sunglasses and related eyewear" are closely related to this standard. This standard has been or is being drafted together with the two aforementioned documents by CEN/TC 85 in cooperation with ISO/TC 94/SC 6 with a view to, at a later date, the current European Standards on sunglasses and similar eye protection, amongst others, the harmonized European Standard EN 1836. Working committee NA 027-01-01 AA "Augenschutz" ("Eye Protection") at NAFuO is responsible for this standard.
