Overview

On-board equipment (OBE) working with satellite positioning to collect data required for charging for the use of roads operates in an autonomous way with respect to the road-side infrastructure. Thereby, the OBE records the distance driven in a toll domain. This Technical Standard defines requirements for DSRC (dedicated short-range communication) between OBE and an interrogator for the purpose of checking compliance of road use with a local toll regime. It is based on an electronic fee collection services architecture according to ISO 17573.
