In the first revision since 2011, a number of changes have been made.
Information on friction measurement has been included, other methods for heating or cooling are allowed; the clause on specimen transfer has been extended, the clause dealing with “Incomplete fracture” has been revised, the information on the transition temperature reworked and the requirements for the test report modified.
Parts 2 and 3 in the series, on the “Verification of testing machines”, and the “Preparation and characterization of Charpy V-notch test pieces for indirect verification of pendulum impact machines“ respectively, have also been recently revised.
