This part of DIN EN ISO 14910 establishes a system of designation for thermoplastic polyester/ester and polyether/ester elastomers, which may be used as the basis for specifications. This standard differs from DIN EN ISO 14910-1:2006-06 as follows: a) the standard has been editorially revised; b) the numbering of the clauses and subclauses has been restructured; c) clause 2 "Normative references" has been updated; the references are now undated; d) as to data block 1, reference is now made to ISO 18064 instead of ISO 1043-1, thus 3.1 (formerly 3) and 3.2 (formerly 3.1) have been modified correspondingly; e) Table 1 (formerly Table 2), "First letter" (formerly "Position 1") code-letter "C" has been changed into "C1" and code-letters K "Cable and wiring coating" and N "Multiple pressing modes" have been added; f) in 3.4.1 (formerly 3.3), the NOTE has been deleted; g) in Table 2 (formerly Table 3), Shore D is given for the range of hardness; h) in 3.4.2 (formerly 3.3.1), a NOTE containing information on Shore hardness has been added; i) in Table 5 (formerly Table 6), column "Form", code-letter D has been supplemented by "dry blend", codeletter G has been supplemented by "granules" and footnotes a and b have been revised; j) clause 4 "Examples of designations" has been updated; k) in Annex A (informative), the last three paragraphs and the column "Symbol" in Tables A.1 to A.3 have been deleted and Table A.2, column "Monomer unit derived from" has been revised.This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61 "Plastics" (secretariat: SAC, China) in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 "Plastics", the secretariat of which is held by NBN (Belgium). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 054-02-10 AA "Thermoplast-Formmassen" ("Thermoplastic materials") at the Plastics Standards Committee (FNK) at DIN.
