It classifies thermal spraying processes according to type of spray material, to type of operation and to type of energy carrier. It specifies abbreviations for spray processes, sprayed coatings, and manufacturing steps. The responsible German standardization committee is DIN/DVS Joint Committee NA 092-00-14 AA (DVS AG V 7) "Thermisches Spritzen und thermisch gespritzte Schichten " ("Thermal spraying and thermal sprayed coatings") at DIN Standards Committee Welding and allied processes (NAS).
