Overview

Vehicles with electric partial or complete drives are being developed in order to reduce the energy consumption of vehicles. A special charging infrastructure is required to charge the batteries of these vehicles. While various aspects of the standardization of electric vehicles and infrastructure have already been dealt with in ISO and IEC, this series of standards deals with the exchange of information between electric vehicles and charging infrastructure. Communication is indispensable for the effective charging of vehicles and for the development of efficient and convenient billing systems.
